How To Enjoy Thanksgiving Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks

The holiday season is upon us, starting this week with Thanksgiving. If you are lucky enough to get to spend your extended weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks, Backwater Jack's has a few fun suggestions for you on how to spend at least some of that time.

Break Time at Backwater Jack's
We'll be closed on Thursday, November 22, 2018, to celebrate Thanksgiving, but your favorite waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks will open back up on Friday so you can take a break from all that hectic Black Friday shopping! As a matter of fact, we'll be here all weekend long starting at 11:00 am each day with all of your Backwater Jack's favorites.

If you're hosting a house full of people for the holiday, this is a great way to keep them entertained, plus get everyone out and away from the house for a while! We'll most likely even have some great live music on our stage for you to enjoy. (Keep an eye on the Backwater Jack's Facebook page for updates about that.)

Eat Steak
More than likely you'll get your fill of turkey on Thursday, and if not, then you definitely will from all of those leftovers that are usually around! On Friday night, switch it up and eat beef instead during our Friday Night Steak Night. Each Friday we offer a 7-oz. Filet Mignon dinner with your choice of one of our signature side dishes for just $14.99. You can even add savory grilled shrimp to the plate for just $5 more, and all of our house wines are $1 off. (You need something to wash it all down with!)

See the Sights
While you're here, if the weather is nice you can sit outside on our deck and enjoy that incredible lake view we're all so fond of. Even if the weather decides to be not-so-pleasant, you can still see that gorgeous lake view from the picture windows in our indoor dining room.

A lot of holiday light displays make their debut this weekend. Load up the car and take everyone on a Lake of the Ozarks holiday light tour, then end your trip right here at Backwater Jack's to top off the evening. Here are a few of the local light displays you might want to check out. You can find more details about each by visiting www.Funlake.com.
  • Enchanted Village of Lights
    Laurie Fairgrounds - Nov. 16-Jan. 1
  • St. Patrick's Festival of Lights
Shrine of St. Patrick/Mother's Shrine in Laurie - Nov. 22-Jan. 2
  • Osage Beach Holiday Lights
Osage Beach City Park & Osage Beach Pkwy. - Nov. 24-Dec. 31
  • Deck the Docks Holiday Light Cruises
Celebration Cruises at Grand Glaize in Osage Beach
Fridays, Saturdays, & Wednesdays starting Nov. 23

However you decide to spend your Thanksgiving holiday weekend, we hope that you have a wonderful few days with family and friends. If you're in the lake area, we really hope that you get yourself back to Backwater Jack's and spend some of that time with us.

Although we'll be closed on Thanksgiving this week, we are regularly open every Thursday-Sunday this time of year beginning at 11:00 am, but our final day will be Sunday, December 2. Make sure that you come by and see us soon. Otherwise, you're going to have to wait until we open back up next spring!
