Party the Entire Memorial Day Weekend at Backwater Jack's!

What are your plans for Memorial Day Weekend 2020 at the Lake of the Ozarks? Whether you've already decided or not, we're willing to bet that after reading today's blog, your plans will include getting back to Backwater Jack's... and staying there most of the weekend!

Our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurant is always an awesome place to hang out but on holiday weekends, things get even more exciting! Check out what's we've got in store for you this time around.

Pool Parties
Holiday weekends at Backwater Jack's always include the best pool parties at the Lake of the Ozarks - the Zero Ducks Given Pool Parties, to be exact! In addition to that always incredible event, we're bringing back our popular Swimdustry Pool Party too.

The Zero Ducks Given Pool Party is happening on Saturday, May 23 from 11:00 an-7:00 pm. This year we are thrilled to announce that the incredibly entertaining Dee Jay Silver will be headlining the show with additional sets by DJ Styles and DJ Ol Skewl! The DJs will be taking over the stage all day until 6:00 pm, and then the bands take over.

Due to current social distancing guidelines, capacity will be limited to first-come, first-served. (That means, get here early for a great spot!) Added precautions have been taken to ensure everyone's health and safety. Find additional details about those precautions, this year's pool party, and more about Dee Jay Silver in last week's blog.

On Memorial Day Monday, it's time to bring back our fantastic Swimdustry Nightswim Pool Party. For everyone that worked all weekend long, it's your turn to play! This late-night glow-in-the-dark pool party is the perfect way to unwind with music, drink specials, some much-deserved pool time, and a few more surprises.

Live Music
If you know us at all, then you know that we only let the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks grace the stages at Backwater Jack's! We've got amazing entertainment in store for you over Memorial Day Weekend in addition to the 2 awesome pool parties already mentioned above.

Just in case any of you want to come back after the holiday weekend (believe us, you will) we've added the music lineup for the rest of May too. As incredible as it is, it's going to keep getting even better all season long!

All the BEST Food & Drinks
Last, but certainly not least, you'll need to eat and hydrate to make it through the entire weekend. You're in luck because we'll have all of your favorites on hand to make that happen in the most delicious ways possible! Some of our most popular menu items include those Colossal Crab Rangoon, Snow Crab Clusters, Grouper Fingers, the Ribeye Steak Sandwich, and of course, that one-of-a-kind Fried Potato Salad. Also, the best sushi at the Lake of the Ozarks is back once again down by the pool in the Sushi & Asian Grill.

When it comes to those must-have "adult" beverages for a fun trip to the lake area, well, we've got them available just about everywhere that you turn! There's a bar inside the restaurant, two tiki bars outside, and of course, that incredible swim-up bar connected to the pool.

So you see, you can easily spend your entire holiday weekend right here with us at Backwater Jack's in Osage Beach and be well-fed, refreshed, and thoroughly entertained the entire time! We'll be looking forward to partying with you this weekend and hopefully, all season long after that too!

  5. I notice you delete all negative comments on your Facebook page. I know you're getting a lot of bad press in the national news because you are not requiring social distancing. Shame on you for putting money ahead of the health of your patrons. Are you going to guarantee health coverage for all visitors that contract COVID-19 during your Memorial Day Weekend? How about putting up a memorial site for people that die because of your actions.

  8. Your party named "Zero Ducks Given Memorial Day Pool Party" was quite appropriate. It shows exactly how much you care about the health and well-being of your guests, your staff and your selves.

    1. Apparentlyy you are not well versed in law. Your free will ends when it negativley impacts the health or well being of others. You do not know, if you are sick, if you are asymtomatic, but will be non the less contagious. If and when that person directly or indirectly infects someone with a compromised immune system the outcome might be tragic. As the ripple effect of your actions widens all we can do is watch and hope for the best. As for management, they early put dollars ahead of sense. They could have limited guests, apparently they did not.

  10. While I appreciate the pressure on seasonal businesses to make the most of summer business and the current financial strain facing most small businesses (including my own) that does not mean small businesses can be irresponsible.

If someone spilled a pitcher of water on the floor would you not quickly clean it up to prevent someone from slipping and falling? Do you have a defibrillator on hand to assist with an emergency? Do you not cook raw meats at a high temp to prevent food poisoning? All scenarios that would put you in a position of liability to any patron who was harmed. Yet, you encouraged patrons to refrain from social distancing and created a community-wide health risk.

Allowing this many people in your establishment when there is not enough space to adhere to social distancing rules and not requiring masks to prevent the spread of the virus is of the poorest business ethics. You have allowed a liability to occur and its impact may reach far beyond your front doors.

  11. This isn't a RUSH song! If you honestly think that this didn't put anyone at risk, you're just a moron. Yes, we all have rights, but sometimes you gotta put reality above your personal beliefs. This thing is real so get on board. You'll get back to your freedom when this is behind us. I want my freedom too, but not until it's time. Going out and doing stupid stuff like this just prolongs all of this. Is the idea of temporarily staying home, wearing a mask and keeping, your distance when going out really so bad? If you don't you're just prolonging this. Just be smart and do what's right. It's sad that so many people think that this isn't serious. This country has lost 100,000 lives to this and if we keep acting like the idiots at The Lake of the Ozarks, it's only getting worse. Just do what is right and listen to the science.

  13. Ok Gary Prewitt, you give "zero ducks" about following any of the guidelines that are in place for the good of all of us and particularly your employees. Good for you! Guess what? I give "zero ducks" about ever patronizing your place again. While it clearly not everyone, be assured many of your clientele does take this situation seriously. There are many places like yours at LOTO. I'm sure we can find one that "gives a duck"

Good luck with your approach. I feel for your employees. They shouldn't have to chose between working and contracting COVID.
