Get Back to Backwater Jack's For Those Awesome Appetizers

The 2020 season at Backwater Jack's has officially begun! You can finally get back to your favorite waterfront bar & restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks for all of those fantastic flavors you've been craving over the long winter break.



Well, almost all of them. The Sushi & Asian Grill won't be opening for a few weeks yet, but all of the delicious dishes on our main restaurant menu are here for you right now! It's an extensive menu, much too big to cover in just one blog, so today we'll start at the beginning with a look at our awesome appetizer section.

Snow Crab Clusters
Nothing but the freshest snow crab clusters at Backwater Jack's! Boiled hot and served by the pound with a tub of butter.

Wings
A dozen jumbo chicken wings fried to a golden brown and then tossed in your choice of one of our homemade sauces, which include Original Hot, Sweet Honey Jerk, or Half & Half.



Chips & Salsa

Jack's Baked Nachos

A pile of tortilla chips topped with tomatoes, black olives, and onions, then smothered in shredded cheddar jack cheese and baked. There are 3 tasty types to choose from; Chicken, Veggie, or Seafood.



Jack's Red Beans & Rice
A homemade spicy mix of red beans, green peppers, onions, and sliced andouille sausage spiced with Cajun seasonings. We simmer it to perfection and serve it with wild rice and our sweet corn bread.

Jack's Jumbo Jalapeno Poppers
Hand-stuffed and breaded jalapeno peppers filled with a crab and cream cheese mix. We serve these with our special house spicy raspberry inferno sauce.


Stuffed Mushrooms
Large mushroom caps stuffed with our handmade crab and cream cheese mix and then baked in white wine.

Ozark Onion Rings
Colossal yellow onion rings deep-fried to a golden brown.


Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus
House-blended hummus served with sweet green and red peppers, broccoli florets, and toasted blackened tortilla points.

Colossal Crab Rangoon
Four over-sized wontons stuffed with Jack’s own crab and cream cheese mix which are fried to a golden brown and served with our homemade apricot sauce.


Grilled Chicken Tenders
Four chicken tenders marinated in a teriyaki glaze and grilled to juicy perfection.

Chicken Tenders
Hand-breaded to order and you’ll definitely taste the difference! Try them HOT by asking us to dip them in our special Buffalo style hot sauce.

Jack's Quesadilla
A large flour tortilla shell stuffed with black olives, tomatoes, red and green onions, and shredded cheddar jack cheese then grilled and served with sour cream and salsa. Varieties include Veggie, Chicken, or Seafood


Backwater's Buffalo Shrimp
Ten butterflied shrimp breaded and served with a side of Jack’s hot sauce.

West Key's Boiled Shrimp
Succulent shrimp boiled in Cajun spices, chilled, and served with fresh-cut lemon and cocktail sauce. Order them by the pound or half-pound.


Grouper Fingers
Our version of a hand-breaded filet in our own secret honey breading. They are served with raspberry tartar sauce.

Raw Oysters on the Half Shell
Served cold with fresh-cut lemons and cocktail sauce. Order by the dozen or half-dozen.


Now that we've got your mouth watering and your taste buds tempted, get yourself back to Backwater Jack's! We're currently open beginning at 11:00 am every Thursday-Sunday. Four fabulous days to hang out with us enjoying great food, amazing drinks, incredible live music, that gorgeous lake view, and some of the most fun people ever to grace the Lake of the Ozarks. 

Then, later this spring, we'll once again be open all 7 days every week and get the best pool parties at the Lake of the Ozarks underway. 2020 is going to be amazing! Make plans to join us as often as possible.
