What Our Customers Are Saying About Backwater Jack's

It has been a great summer season here at Lake of the Ozarks' favorite waterfront bar. We want to thank our customers for making it the best season yet! Before summer ends, we wanted to share some reviews from this year:

"We actually only had drinks and appetizers at this fun lakeside bar. They were so good we went 3 different times. If you like oysters on half shell they have good ones and half price on Thursdays" ~ MoparMan52 Westphalia, IN

"Now this was a great place! The breaded Grouper fingers with raspberry sauce and the jalapeƱo poppers were fantastic! The poppers were huge! The kids had a blast feeding the giant buffalo carp and ducks. (Bring lots of quarters for the fish food machine). Oh, and the live music was great and this was on a Tuesday night." ~ tcgeffert Cedar Falls, IA

"Great restaurant and overall best dive bar water location, place to eat, entertainment at the lake. Great access by both boat and car. But be sure to put your parking brake on in the parking lot! No better place to be. My wife and I are about twenty-five years older than most everyone else here. But we love it." ~ StevEW0nder

"Great food and service...they have remodeled and there seems to be so much more room...really had good service with MacKayla..had stuffed mushrooms...delicious!! And shared a grilled chicken sandwich with cheese and bacon...also delicious...would recommend if you have never been there...or go back if it has been a while.." ~ Kim L.

"My wife and I have been visiting Backwater Jack's weekly for Crabby Ol Mondays for all but one week since May thus far in 2016. We come by boat and get an appetizer of crab rangoon and a pound of snow crab each trip. I usually have a Dr. Pepper while my wife has the Pain in the "back side", drink special. ****TripAdvisor won't publish a review with anything close to profanity, lol****. The drinks wet our whistle while we wait for the crab.

There are four crab rangoon in the appetizer order, they're deep fried and pretty good size. They come with what I believe is an apricot dipping sauce. They're cheesy and a great start to our meal.

Next, we hit the pound of Snow Crab. Since we've been going, a pound has usually included two clusters of either four or five legs, some with the claw, some without. They come in a bucket with a shell cracker and a small serving of drawn butter. We eat a lot of shellfish both in the U.S. and Belize and my wife prefers crab because it's sweeter and more tender than lobster. It takes time to dig out all the crab meat, including all the meat in the soft shell thigh area, but it's worth the work. I think it's a pretty good deal at $12.99 a pound prepared and brought to your table. We have a great time there every Monday and I highly recommend Crabby Ol Mondays at Backwater Jack's. Come on down and look for an old salt digging away at his crab legs." ~ Dennis H.

"Our food was awesome! Especially the Colossal Cheese Rangoon appetizer! I will be fondly remembering the specialty frozen drinks that are half Rum Runner/half Pina Colada! We greatly appreciated the awesome service given to our party of 17! Thanks, Backwater Jacks!" ~ jjstrohl Corona del Mar, CA
