Sign Up For the Boating For C.O.P.S. Event This Labor Day Weekend
We are very proud to be one of the Lake of the Ozarks waterfront bar & restaurants participating in this year's Boating for C.O.P.S. 2018 event on Friday, August 31. As a matter of fact, Backwater Jack's is both the beginning and the ending point for this boating event, so we'll be seeing you twice in one day!
What is C.O.P.S.
This title stands for Concerns of Police Survivors. It is a non-profit organization that helps the surviving family members of police officers that have died in the line of duty. They provide resources that assist in rebuilding the lives of these families and affected co-workers. This program strives to help survivors find a new normal in their lives while honoring the memory of their loved ones.
Boating For C.O.P.S.
This will be the third year for this wonderful annual event at the Lake of the Ozarks. It's a non-profit donation fun run where all proceeds collected will go directly to the Missouri C.O.P.S. organization.
As we mentioned earlier, this fun-on-the-water event will begin right here at the Backwater Jack's docks on the 17.7 MM at 9 am on Friday of Labor Day Weekend, August 31. A brief meet and greet will take place at that time. Drivers will take off sometime between 9:30-10 am.
Once the boats leave our docks, there are three stops on the schedule for the day. These include Captian Ron's at the 34.5 MM, The Fish & Co. at the 31 MM, The NautiFish Rum Bar at the 3.5 MM on the Niangua Arm. Organizers are working on setting up a special lunch also. (Keep an eye on the Boating For C.O.P.S. 2018 Fun Run Facebook event page for updates, as well as a list of silent auction items prior to the event.)
At the end of the fun run, all boats have gotta get back to Backwater Jack's, because this is where the prize giveaways will be taking place. To go along with that, an awesome pool party is planned too in the best lakeside pool at the Lake of the Ozarks! The Boating For C.O.P.S. team will also be selling 50/50 raffle tickets and there will be lots of donated prizes to give away.

Everyone is invited to join in the excitement of this incredible event. It's a wonderful way to show love and support to the people that protect our community on a daily basis, plus an excellent chance to help those that could use a hand due to circumstances surrounding a fallen family member.
You can register for Boating For C.O.P.S. online through the MO-COPS.org website, and once you do more information should be sent to you. You're probably planning to get out on the lake during the Labor Day holiday weekend anyway. This event makes it easy to turn something recreational into something meaningful. As an added bonus, you still get to party right here with us at Backwater Jack's when it's over. Win-Win!
