Going out to your favorite waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks to get your favorite libation is just around the corner. We know you love our bomb shots and frozen pains, but let's dig deeper and reveal some facts about hard liquor that you may not have heard before!


 One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer


While we don’t necessarily subscribe to George Thorogood’s suggestion to do all 3 at once, we do have some OUTSTANDING alcohol choices at Backwater Jacks.  Here’s a little bit about each type of alcohol to help you choose wisely.

Bourbon - Only from the United States


Bourbon derives its name from where it was originally made, Bourbon County, Kentucky. While bourbon is no longer made in Bourbon County, true bourbon whiskey is only made in the United States. Bourbon is typically made with a mash of grains containing 51% corn. Popular bourbons include Wild Turkey, Maker's Mark, and Woodford Reserve.  Come get your Turkey on at the best waterfront bar at the Lake of the Ozarks!

Scotch - Ron Burgandy's Favorite


Scotch is typically made from malted barley with the inclusion of other cereal grains and caramel coloring. Most Scotch’s are aged in an oak cask for at least 3 years, which gives it a unique flavor. Scotch is only scotch if it was made entirely in Scotland. Popular scotches include Dewar's, Chivas Regal, and Johnny Walker.  Come on in and enjoy our 14oz Ribeye and knock back a good Scotch!

Beer at Backwater Jacks


In the United States, we consume 20+ gallons of beer each year per person.  This puts us 14th in the world for beer consumption.  At Backwater Jacks, we think this is unacceptable and we know we can improve this ranking.  We have a wide selection of beer available for most tastes.  Nothing beats a cold one during the hot summer days that are on the way.  By the way, beer goes perfectly with our appetizer menu, so come on by!  We have specials all week.

 Our Frozen Cocktails


Backwater Jack's is famous for its frozen cocktails. This popular drink variation began with shaved ice drinks found all over Asia as early as the 7th Century AD and were popularized in America during the 1950's after World War 2. The Strawberry Daiquiri is hailed as the original of alcohol infused shaved ice drinks, created in 1952, ushering in the creation of frozen cocktails like the Margarita and Rum Runner.  Backwater Jacks has taken the next step in the evolution of the frozen cocktail with our famous margaritas, rum runners, and pains…see you soon!
