Most people in the Midwest have heard about the Lake of the Ozarks, and many know of it as a popular place to spend your summer vacation. The Lake has also received a lot of attention recently as a viable option for destination weddings in the Midwest. People come from all over the States to soak up some much-needed sunshine. But how much do you really know about your favorite vacation destination? Backwater Jack's is here to help make you the smartest person in the room with these fun facts about the Lake of the Ozarks! The Lake has over 1,150 miles of shoreline - more than the state of California! There are roughly 70,000 docks on the Lake. Bagnell Dam is 2,543 feet long. The Lake was created when Bagnell Dam was completed in 1931.  The town of Linn Creek is currently in it second location - the original location was buried under the Lake when it formed. Get Back to Backwater Jack's for Our 2021 Season!

While many of you are preparing to party at the Lake of the Ozarks Mardi Gras Pub Crawl this weekend (Feb. 19-20. Learn more about that event in last month's blog ) all of us here at Backwater Jack's are busy preparing for a very special date a bit further out than that. Opening day for our waterfront restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks is coming up very soon!  Consider the Lake Pub Crawl your warm-up for the fun and excitement we'll have waiting for you when we all get back to Backwater Jack's again!  Opening Day Thursday, March 11, 2021 Beginning on Thursday, March 11, 2021, Backwater Jack's will open our doors at  11:00 am every Thursday-Sunday . (Once again, just in time for St. Patrick's Day Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks! ) We'll keep those hours to get things started and most likely extend that to 7 days a week at some point in April.  Remember all of the awesome times and fantastic food and drinks you enjoyed here with us last season?
